ADEE 2023 Liverpool - Its good to know!

With the countdown to Liverpool well underway, we wanted to share some useful information with you in advance of your travel to help you have the best possible experience while in Liverpool and the UK.
 


Some useful information

  • The Currency in the UK is pound sterling (£GBP), you can expect an approximate conversation rate of 0.86p to the EUR or approximately 0.80p to the USD
  • Most transactions can be carried out using contactless payments or via debit or credit cards
  • When using taxis we recommend you ensure they accept cards before commencing the journey and also ask for a receipt when paying 
  • The type of plug in use in the UK is type G. The pin or male has three rectangular flat pins placed in a triangular or T position. This means European travellers will require an adapter to ensure they can charge their devices
     

Arriving in the UK
You have many travel option for getting to Liverpool. 

  • If you arrive directly to Liverpool John Lennon Airport a taxi to city centre venues will cost you in the region of £35, there is also a local bus that will take you for approx £7
  • If you arrive into Manchester we recommend you take a train or Bus to Liverpool (a taxi fare may cost you upto £200). We advise you to pre-book your train early so you can ensure smooth travel. You can do this directly with the train/bus company or by using https://www.thetrainline.com/ 
  • Be advised that in the UK at present there is some industrial action that may impact public transport, there are also air traffic control actions within France, which may impact your journey - Please ensure you check with you service providers to ensure you are up to date on any planned action that may impact your journey
     

Dress code
As always our dress code for all events is business or smart casual. This includes the social gatherings and Gala dinner event, as we will be moving between venues for the Plenary sessions we encourage you to have comfortable footwear.
The walk is short but will require you to walk public footpaths etc.
