Professor Gábor Gerber is the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at Semmelweis University. He teaches anatomy, histology, and embryology for over 40 years and is a specialist in Dental and Oral Diseases and Conservative and Prosthetic Dentistry.

As Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at Budapest’s Semmelweis University it is my great honour and pleasure to be able to invite you to ADEE 2026 ‘Evidence and Empathy as the focus in oral health professionals' education'.
Together with the ADEE office and a committed local organising committee we are working on crafting an exciting and worthwhile programme of events during the week of 24th August 2026. The initial outline programme is already available online and over the coming months we will share our keynote speakers, workshops and social events.
In selecting our meeting theme, we drew inspiration from the WHO Global Oral Health Strategy and wider challenges on the evidence base and science to inform our choice. The oral health professions are first and foremost based on science, science in the practice of medicine and science in the practice of education. These principles will guide our meetings discussions together in Budapest.
We will of course also ensure you have sufficient time to network and explore our beautiful city, as city we are proud to call home and a city we know you will enjoy!
