Session synopsis: 

To develop by consensus a core postgraduate curriculum that can be used by European schools to help standardise the content and delivery of research skills. The content will be developed from the GED Domain V as a starting point and then modified to reflect the skills and knowledge necessary at a postgraduate level.

  • Gather opinions of current postgraduate students (Masters and Doctorate level) across Europe on research in their curricula (Y1)
  • Gather opinions of current programme leads (Masters and Doctorate level) across Europe on research in their curricula (Y1) 
  • Develop learning outcomes for a core postgraduate research curriculum (Y2)
  • Gather pan-European multi-stakeholder consensus (students, staff, schools, regulators, industry, organisations, public, patients) on the learning outcomes (and specifically importance, clarity, and difficulty, by academic staff) (Y2)
  • Publish core postgraduate research curriculum in EJDE (Y2)
  • Create dedicated space on the ADEE (perhaps also GED library) pages (Y3)
  • Develop consensus on innovative methods of teaching and assessing more difficult aspects of the curriculum (Y3)
