Session synopsis:
The summer meeting of FEHDD (The Forum of European Heads and Dental Deans).

As a global community of dental schools leaders, we continually encounter new social, economic, and environmental challenges, driven by accelerating globalization and rapid technological advancements. These challenges offer numerous opportunities for the advancement of the dental teaching field and for preparing the upcoming generations of health providers.

While we cannot entirely predict the future, we can be prepared to embrace it.

We invite you to join us for a thought-provoking forum where we will examine the current Competency Framework for aspiring deans and heads of dental schools, and work together to update its relevance in today's world. Our discussions will explore the impact and opportunities presented by various influencing factors and how they might shape the future of this Competency framework:

  • The impact of the WHO action plan on competency
  • The evolving role of advocacy for deans
  • The importance of self-care for deans
  • Technological competence in the Al era for deans
  • The effects of changing political agendas on the dean's role The rising awareness of student mental health and its implications for the dean's role

We value your knowledge and expertise and encourage you to reflect on these themes in light of your own role and aspirations.

Come prepared to engage in meaningful discussions and contribute to shaping the future of dental education.

We look forward to your active participation and insights.
