Pulpotomy exercise on a first lower molar - a pediatric case, Geraldine Weinstein

Educational Purpose

The pediatric arch includes a first molar with a hollow pulp chamber, allowing students to perform a pulpotomy. The orifices of the pulp canals can be felt, depending on the printer and resin settings available in the 3D printer.

Structure of the Exercise

  • Perform a pulpotomy
  • Adapt a stainless steel crown to the tooth after completing the pulpotomy

At Temple University, a Phrozen Mini 8K printer and grey, water-washable resin are used, which minimises costs and is more environmentally friendly.
