Session synopsis:
Working with ‘students as partners’ is gaining acceptance, and interest is shown in continuing to develop the concept. Dental education by nature of its discipline, has educational opportunities that lend itself to the use of these educational methodologies for the benefit of both staff and students.

Previous ADEE sessions have examined 3 key areas as defined by Healey (2019) such as teaching learning & assessment, scholarship of teaching and learning, and curriculum design. In addition to updating delegates on previous years’ progress on co-creation including peer assessment, and peer assisted learning(PAL), this session will explore new areas of interest in relation to staff-student partnerships such as research and community engagement. An additional feature to be explored is the fast developing concept of generative AI and the possible symbiosis that exists to further develop the co-creation relationship between staff and students.
